U.S. network BBC America has set an April 19 premiere date for its original docuseries The Real History of Science Fiction, which is a coproduction with UK terrestrial BBC2.

Airing at 10 p.m. EST, the series features filmmakers, writers, actors and graphic artists known for their sci-fi work “looking back on their experiences and on how their obsession and imagination has taken them into the unknown,” according to the network.

The BBC-made series is narrated by Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, Doctor Who), the series producer is Ben Southwell, and the exec producer is Michael Poole.

Among the notable names taking part in the series are William Shatner (Star Trek), Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Chris Carter (The X-Files), David Tennant (Doctor Who), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner), Neil Gaiman (The Sandman), Bakula (Quantum Leap) and Peter Weller (Robocop).
