Zodiak recruits de Chavagnac to head French arm

Veteran production exec and Odena Media and Televista founder Gaspard de Chavagnac is to lead Zodiak Media's operations in France.

Zodiak Media has appointed Gaspard de Chavagnac as CEO of Zodiak France.

In the role, he will oversee development and production activities of French producers, including Mona Lisa, Marathon Media, Tele Images, GTV, KM and Marathon, and drive programming sales to French broadcasters.

He is the founder and president of production company Odena Media and broadcasting company Televista. He previously worked for the Canal+ group from 1994 to 2002 and served as CEO of Fox Kids/Jetix in France from 2002 to 2004. He was CEO of FremantleMedia France from 2004 to 2007.

Zodiak Media has under its umbrella 45 production companies operating in 17 countries, in addition to its international rights business, Zodiak Rights, and its digital arm, Zodiak Active. Its French producers work across genres including factual, documentaries, drama, animation, kids, adventure games, game shows and magazine programming.

The French division was previously overseen by Zodiak Media CEO Marc Antoine d’Halluin, who joined the company last fall following the departure of David Frank.
