Elin Thomas has stepped down as director of global formats at BBC Worldwide (BBCWW), the commercial arm of the BBC, while exec VP of international production Joerg Bachmaier is relocating to the U.S.

As BBCWW has shifted its focus to regionalization, with regions taking a more hands-on approach to production, Thomas felt her role “not the right fit anymore,” a spokesperson told realscreen.

Bachmaier, meanwhile, is moving to the U.S. where he will continue to work on international formats and production partnerships while supporting the firm’s Los Angeles-based production unit.

In addition, head of sport and sport entertainment Danny O’Toole is also departing. The spokesperson said O’Toole will stay for another six months as a global sales consultant, supporting BBCWW’s sports sales activities.
