Jane Latman (pictured) has been promoted to general manager of U.S. net Discovery Fit & Health, effective immediately, replacing Nancy Daniels, who moved to become GM of TLC last fall.

Latman will retain her responsibilities as senior VP of development for Investigation Discovery (ID), and will report to Henry Schleiff, the group president for ID, Destination America, American Heroes Channel and Discovery Fit & Health.

In her role as ID’s chief development executive, she will continue to work for Kevin Bennett, general manager of ID and American Heroes Channel.

“As head of our creative pipeline and an integral member of the leadership team at ID, Jane has a demonstrated track record of developing a vision for an emerging brand and championing that vision both internally and with the creative community,” said Schleiff in a statement.

“Jane’s passion for ID has helped it grow from the number 50 network for women to the number three network today, and I look forward to working with her to develop Discovery Fit & Health into a growth engine for Discovery Communications.”

The promotion comes after Daniels, Discovery Fit & Health’s previous general manager, moved in September to take the reins at Discovery Communications’ sister network TLC.

It also comes after Discovery Communications last month re-aligned the leadership for its U.S. network portfolio, with Schleiff taking over control of Discovery Fit & Health from Eileen O’Neill.
