BBC Worldwide Productions has named Travis Shakespeare (pictured) as its senior VP of current unscripted programming, effective immediately.

Shakespeare will work alongside senior VP of unscripted entertainment programming Michael Brooks, and both will report to Jane Tranter, the head of BBC Worldwide Productions and Adjacent Productions.

In his role, Shakespeare will oversee the creative development and execution of multiple unscripted shows currently in production under both labels.

He has most recently served as the exec producer on Adjacent Productions’ Life Below Zero, for National Geographic Channel, and is currently overseeing the production of the show’s second season.

Tranter said of Shakespeare: “His work on Life Below Zero is an excellent example of his dedication to informative and groundbreaking reality television that we value as a company.

“His experience producing a diverse range of unscripted programming makes him the perfect person to help direct our unscripted team.”
