Nordic production group Metronome Film & Television is to change name to Shine Nordics.

The group of 12 companies that span Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway will operate under the new collective name from today (April 5). The news follows Shine Group’s acquisition of the group in 2009.

Gary Carter, Shine Group chairman for Northern Europe, said: “The desire to change name came from the MD’s within the Metronome Group who unanimously felt that Shine Nordics is both simpler and more relevant to their business in 2014.

“Shine Nordics clarifies the relationship to the parent company and better reflects the companies’ role within a truly international production group.”

Headquartered in Stockholm, Shine Nordics is comprised of production companies Meter Television, STO-CPH Produktion, Filmlance International and format creator Friday TV in Sweden; Rubicon TV and Metronome Spartacus in Norway; Shine Finland in Finland and Metronome Productions and associate company Heartland in Denmark.

The company additionally operates broadcast facilities expert Studios A/S in Denmark, and Metronome Rental and Metronome Post in Sweden.
