Banijay Group-owned Air Productions is to bring Red Arrow International’s quiz show format The Lie to France.
The game show features teams of two attempting to identify the false statement among several in a particular category. There is only one lie, which means that the number of true statements increase, and teams risk increasing amounts of money as they get closer to the jackpot.
Originally developed for Irish audiences by STV, TV3 and GroupM Entertainment, a second season of The Lie has already been commissioned for the UK.
“The game show space is very competitive and the very straight-forward gameplay of The Lie immediately caught our attention,” said Fanny Baudry, global acquisitions manager of Banijay International, in a statement.
