MIPTV ’14: “Game of Chefs” format heads to Germany

German network Vox has acquired the cooking competition format Game of Chefs (pictured) from ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE).

The format was originally created by The Lab, a partnership between ITV Studios and Israel’s Reshet network. The German version of the show is being coproduced by ITV Studios and Constantine and will premiere in a weekend primetime slot next year.

In the series, three well-known chefs audition and then mentor groups of contestants through a series of challenges as part of a culinary bootcamp.

The 22-episode first season debuted in Israel in January and wrapped up this week. The finale drew a 49.2% audience share and an average of 40% across the run. Reshet has ordered a second season.
