TLC has bolstered its west coast development and production teams.

The Discovery Communications-owned U.S. cable network has hired Jack Tarantino (pictured, left) as VP of production for the west coast, and Elvia Van Es Oliva (right) as VP of development for the west coast.

Both are based in the company’s Los Angeles office and will oversee the creation and execution of original programming. They will report to Sandy Varo Jarrell, SVP of production and development for the west coast.

Tarantino is formerly the vice president of original programming for the now-defunct Style Network. During his time at that network, he oversaw the launches of unscripted series such as Hot Listings Miami, Jerseylicious and Big Rich Texas. Prior to that he produced The Real Housewives of Orange County for Bravo and Mob Wives for VH1.

Van Es Oliva previously worked as producer Fly On The Wall Entertainment’s senior VP of development, where she pitched and produced docuseries for networks such as E!, Oxygen and History. Before that she was the VP of programming and development for High Noon Entertainment, where she worked on programs such as TruTV’s Guinness World Records Gone Wild and Discovery’s Dude, You’re Screwed!
