In this week’s round-up, U.S. net Syfy renews Face Off (pictured) for a seventh season, TruTV signs on for more Impractical Jokers and Food Network will search for its next protégé in the 10th season of Food Network Star.

U.S. net Syfy will bring back special effects competition series Face Off for a seventh season in July. The new season of the series – produced by Mission Control Media – promises a host of make-up challenges under the theme of “Life and Death.”

Elsewhere, as reported earlier in the week, TruTV has renewed Impractical Jokers for a fourth season, ordering 26 episodes of the NorthSouth Productions-made hidden camera series. A premiere date is as-yet-unannounced.

Finally, Food Network’s long-running competition series Food Network Star is back for a 10th season. Veteran chefs Alton Brown, Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay are back to mentor 12 new contestants in the LEG/Triage Entertainment-produced series, which premieres June 1 at 9 p.m. EST/PST.
