A&E orders “Big Brew Theory” pilot from Mark Wahlberg

The U.S. cable net has ordered Big Brew Theory, reality pilot backed by Mark Wahlberg (pictured) that follows four MIT grad students as they launch and run a micro-brewery.

A&E has ordered the half-hour pilot Big Brew Theory (working title) from executive producer Mark Wahlberg (pictured).

According to the U.S. cable network, the Boston-set reality series follows four “quirky and highly intelligent” Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) grad students who pool use their combined life savings to start a micro-brewery business with the help of “a beautiful MIT undergrad.”

A&E previously greenlit the seriesĀ Wahlburgers and Breaking Boston from the actor and producer.

Big Brew Theory will be produced by 44 Blue Productions, Closest to the Hole Productions, Leverage Entertainment, Dunlop Entertainment and Bill Thompson Productions.

The executive producers are Wahlberg, Stephanie Drachkovitch, Stephen Levinson, Scott Dunlop and Bill Thompson. Shelly Tatro, Drew Tappon, Lily Neumeyer and Devon Graham are exec producing for A&E.
