UK-based Sky Vision, the international distribution arm of pay-TV net BSkyB, has appointed Barnaby Shingleton (pictured) as its director of factual and entertainment.

Shingleton, formerly head of entertainment at Zodiak Rights, will drive the entertainment and factual strategy for Sky Vision, and oversee acquisition and development of entertainment and factual programming from third party producers and Sky Entertainment channels. He will report directly to Jane Millichip, who was named MD of Sky Vision last November.

Shington’s appointment comes after a review of company structure overseen by Millichip. Following the assessment, Olivier Jacquet – previously director of international channels distribution for BSkyB – has been appointed director of sales strategy and operations, while Danny Tipping has been promoted from head of programming and development to director of the division.

“Barnaby is a really important addition to the team, and brings with him a wealth of experience, specifically in developing successful primetime global entertainment formats,” said Millichip in a statement. “His role will be instrumental in helping to form the future direction and growth of the business.”
