Social experiment show Married At First Sight, home-reno series Tiny House Nation and food competition show World Food Championships (pictured) are among seven original series which have received July premiere dates on the forthcoming U.S. net FYI.
The launch date for the A+E Networks-owned net – which is replacing the BIO Channel - has been pushed back by a day, and will now launch on July 8.
The slate includes Kinetic Content-produced series Married at First Sight (10 x 60 minutes), which A+E Networks picked up from distributor Red Arrow International for one of its channels last month. The series, which follows three couples that meet for the first time at the altar when they are legally wed, premieres July 8 at 9 p.m. EST/PST. It will also be accompanied by a one-hour casting special.
The net’s previously announced shows include the Jane Street Entertainment-made series Rowhouse Showdown (10 x 60 minutes) – about three teams that set out to renovate dilapidated Cincinnati homes – premiering July 9 at 9 p.m. EST/PST; and Loud TV-produced series Tiny House Nation (10 x 60 minutes), which showcases small living spaces across the U.S., also premieres on July 9 at 10 p.m. EST/PST.
Meanwhile Sharp Entertainment’s World Food Championships (6 x 60 minutes) - a series that follows American home cooks and professional chefs as they compete to create innovative dishes in various categories - will premiere July 10 at 10 p.m EST/PST.
On July 12, FYI will debut the Giant Pirates-produced talk/road-show The Feed (6 x 60 minutes), in which three hosts - culinary expert Gail Simmons, chef Marcus Samuelsson, and comedian and food writer Max Silvestri – discuss and test the latest trends in food culture. The series will premiere at 9 p.m. EST/PST.
Left/Right-produced series B.O.R.N. to Style (14 x 60 minutes) - about Harlem-based boutique B.O.R.N. and its eclectic make-overs of clients - is premiering July 15 at 10 p.m. EST/PST, while Collective Digital Studio and NextTime Productions’ series Epic Meal Empire (16 x 30 minutes) debuts July 26 at 10 p.m. EST/PST and will follow Harley Morenstein and his kitchen crew as they prepare “epic” new dishes for a primetime audience.
“Reflecting FYI’s mission of inspiring personal creativity across all aspects of viewers’ lives, the network will premiere with an authentic slate of series that embrace FYI’s adventurous, personalized and non-prescriptive approach to programming,” said Jana Bennett, president of FYI and LMN, in a statement.
“Viewers will see a taste of everything FYI has to offer with a range of stories and experiences that reflect how people actually live their lives today, not defined by just one passion or interest,” she added.
