Bristol-based indie Icon Films has hired Stephen McQuillan (pictured), a producer for the BBC doc strand ‘Panorama,’ as executive producer.

A veteran journalist, he will develop and produce programing for the River Monsters producer.

McQuillan is one of three new hires to the company’s senior management team. Jonathan Jackson, formerly managing director of distributor Digital Rights Group (DRG), has been appointed to the newly created role of financial director and Tom Cooper has joined Icon as post-production supervisor to manage digital strategy and in-house offline editing.

He previously worked as the facilities manager for Atlantic Productions where he oversaw offline HD and 3D editing and managed workflow for several major Sky 3D programs.
