U.S. cable net Esquire Network is moving into the live TV arena with its first event: the July 7-14 staging of the annual Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

Viewers will have to stay awake for the eight nights of exclusive coverage, which will be broadcast at 2 a.m. live on the East Coast and tape delayed on the West Coast.

Produced by Wilshire Studios, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s shingle dedicated to non-scripted programming, Running of the Bulls 2014 will be hosted by Telemundo entertainment and lifestyle reporter Guad Venegas of Al Rojo Vivo con MarĂa Celeste and will feature exclusive commentary and interviews with Joe Distler, the “Iron Man of Pamplona” who has finished the Run every year between 1967-2012; and John Hemingway, grandson of Ernest, the author who wrote about the Running of the Bulls in his novels and bullfighting itself for Esquire magazine.

The route from Pamplona’s Santa Domingo corrals to the Plaza de Toros will be covered by 25 cameras to provide comprehensive coverage of the controversial event.
