Producer-distributor Keshet International has sold its interactive talent show Rising Star (pictured) into Italy, where it will air on Mediaset Canale 5.

The series – which will be produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment Group-owned prodco Toro – will include eight episodes, scheduled to air during the 2015 season.

Rising Star lets viewers vote on singer contestants in real-time through a free app that is integrated into the show. Participants receive immediate feedback when they’re on stage, but can only advance beyond a giant screen into the studio after securing more than 70% of the viewers’, judges’ and live audiences’ vote.

Since the show was unveiled at MIPCOM in October 2013, Keshet has sold the format into more than 25 territories. Rising Star most recently debuted in the U.S. on ABC on June 22.
