New York-based distributor Bond/360 has acquired the U.S. rights for the documentary Advanced Style (pictured).

Directed by Lina Plioplyte and street style photographer Ari Seth Cohen, the film is based on Cohen’s book and blog about fashionable seniors. It will roll out theatrically, digitally and on DVD beginning on September 26, following New York Fashion Week.

The Kickstarter-funded film world premiered at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in April and opened in British cinemas in May. Dogwoof has acquired international distribution rights for the film.

Advanced Style follows seven New Yorkers between the ages of 62 and 95, as they transcend stereotypes around beauty and ageing with their unique fashion sensibilities.

Bond/360 is the distribution arm started last year by publicity and marketing firm Bond Strategy and Influence. Blue Ice Docs will handle the Canadian theatrical release.
