Realscreen presents an exclusive clip from HGTV’s forthcoming home reno series My Big Family Renovation, which premieres in the U.S. on August 7.

The series follows Texas-based blogger Jen Hatmaker and her family as they sell their home – which they’ve long outgrown – and buy a 105-year-old “fixer-upper” farm house in need of major renovation.

The Hatmakers want their new home completed as quickly as possible, but the family of seven finds it challenging to convert the structure into an open floor plan, six-bedroom home.

“With a family our size, we always have drama,” said Hatmaker in a statement. “But we had no idea the type of stress we would endure when we decided to take on a massive home renovation.”

The series will premiere on HGTV on August 7 at 11 p.m. EST/PST. Check out the clip below, exclusive to realscreen:
