Bravo to air “The Real Housewives of Melbourne”

The Australian version of the docusoap franchise (pictured) will begin airing on the U.S. cable network on August 3.

U.S. cable network Bravo has acquired The Real Housewives of Melbourne (pictured).

The 12-episode reality series, which premiered in Australia on Foxtel’s Arena channel in February, will begin airing this Sunday (August 3) at 12 p.m. EST/PST with two back-to-back episodes. The season will conclude with a two-part reunion special hosted by fashion designer Alex Perry.

The first episode will also be available via Bravo’s website, video on-demand and the Bravo Now site tomorrow (August 1).

The Australian version of the Housewives docusoap franchise was produced by Matchbox Pictures and stars socialites Gina Liano, Andrea Moss, Chyka Keebaugh, Janet Roach, Lydia Schiavello and Jackie Gillies. It is distributed in the U.S. by NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution.

Foxtel has commissioned a second season that will also air on Arena.
