A+E Networks has named former Red Arrow Entertainment head Joel Denton (pictured) as its MD for international content sales and partnerships.

Based in London and reporting to exec VP for international Sean Cohan, Denton will manage A+E Networks’ content distribution and format licensing activities outside the U.S.

Working with the company’s regional MDs in London and Singapore, he will oversee a sales staff based in New York, LA, London and Singapore, developing and implementing sales strategies for the company’s library, which features content from leading cable channels A&E, History, Lifetime, H2, FYI and LMN.

Denton was previously co-MD of ProSiebenSat.1-owned Red Arrow Entertainment UK, which he ran with James Baker. He has recently been serving as a consultant to A+E Networks, advising on international program strategy and distribution.

In a statement, Cohan said Denton’s distribution background “will further strengthen our talented international team, while his expertise in scripted financing will be an important asset to the international growth of our burgeoning premium drama business.”
