U.S. net Animal Planet and Disney Parks are teaming up for a one-hour special tentatively called America’s Cutest: Disney Side Howl-o-ween (pictured), which will feature clips of pets dressed up as Disney characters.

The Powderhouse Productions-made special – set to air on Animal Planet on October 18 – presents clips of animals dressed as Disney princesses, pirates, heroes and villains, with clips organized into five categories and a finalist selected for each.

During the special, Disney characters will provide commentary on the pets and ultimately decide on “America’s Cutest Disney Side Pet,” which will go on to serve as grand marshal of a Halloween parade at Walt Disney World Resort. The special will be hosted by actor John O’Hurley, a former host of Family Feud.

America’s Cutest: Disney Side Howl-o-ween is exec produced by Seanbaker Carter, Joel Olicker and John Tomlin for Powderhouse Productions, and Melinda Toporoff for Animal Planet. Pat Dempsey is serving as associate producer, with Tony Sheppard producing for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
