OWN orders docuseries “2 Fat 2 Fly” from Paperny

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has ordered food truck docuseries 2 Fat 2 Fly (pictured) from Paperny Entertainment.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has greenlit a docuseries about a South Carolina food truck business.

2 Fat 2 Fly (8 x one hour, pictured) is produced by Paperny Entertainment and stars best friends Ramone Dickerson and Corey Simmons, who sell stuffed chicken wings from a food truck in Columbia, South Carolina. The series will join the network’s Saturday night line-up next year.

Each episode follows the pair as they attempt to get their business in order and build a wing empire.

The U.S. cable net aired a sneak preview of the show under a different title on August 16 that rated number one in its time period among African-American women between 25-42, according to the channel.

Exec producers for Paperny are David Paperny, Cal Shumiatcher, Audrey Mehler, Lynne Kirby and Russ Heldt.
