UK- and Hong Kong-based distributor Electric Sky has named Ting Wai Ho (pictured), former formats director at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), as its head of sales and acquisitions for Asia.

In his new role, Ho’s duties will include ramping up sales of the Electric Sky catalog across the region, in addition to acquiring more Asian series focused on long-running lifestyle content and 4K.

Prior to joining SPE, Ho spent six years overseeing program sales for ITV Studios in Southeast Asia and India. Before this, he spent five years with the BBC, also managing program sales for Southeast Asia.

“Ting is a great addition to the team and brings us new expertise in the area of formats in particular. He will also add to our already significant presence in the Asian market,” said David Pounds, MD of Electric Sky, in a statement.
