Discovery Networks UK has commissioned Sky Vision Productions to make a one-hour documentary that promises to uncover the science behind the deadly Ebola virus.

Ebola Exposed (pictured), narrated by actor David Morrissey (The Driver, The Walking Dead), analyzes the virus’s composition and origins, and predicts its future impact should it continue to evolve.

The one-off also focuses on the science of viral archaeology with commentary from Ebola researchers and doctors, including London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine head Professor Peter Piot, a member of the team that first identified the Ebola virus in 1976 while in the Congo.

Ebola Exposed will be distributed internationally by Sky Vision, and airs on Discovery Channel in the UK on November 22.

“Discovery is dedicated to providing new scientific insight into domestic and international events,” said Daniel Korn, Discovery Networks Western Europe’s senior VP and programming head. “Ebola Exposed does exactly this, uncovering brand new scientific research about this virulent disease from those at the forefront of the fight against it.”
