French network M6 is drawing reality competition series Rising Star (pictured) to a close two weeks early, amid declining ratings.

The show’s first season finale, originally due to wrap on November 27, will now screen this Thursday (November 13) at 8.50 p.m., according to French reports.

The decision comes as ratings have fallen for the French version of the show, which is made in-house by M6′s Studio 89. After the premiere episode drew in a crowd of 3.7 million, ratings fell to a low of 1.5 million last Thursday, representing a share of less than 7%.

The news also comes after UK broadcaster ITV announced in September that it would not be proceeding with a planned UK version of the show, and after Germany’s RTL also ended its version of the Keshet format earlier than expected.
