EXCLUSIVE: BBCWW Productions hires Cane

BBC Worldwide Productions has named former FremantleMedia North America exec Jonathan Cane (pictured) as its VP of unscripted development, realscreen can reveal.

BBC Worldwide Productions (BBCWW) has named former FremantleMedia North America exec Jonathan Cane (pictured) as its VP of unscripted development, realscreen can reveal.

Based in BBCWW’s headquarters in Los Angeles, Cane will report to Travis Shakespeare, senior VP of current unscripted programming, and begins immediately.

His duties will include overseeing the development of unscripted fare for network, cable and digital platforms across all major U.S. outlets for both BBCWW and the company’s indie Adjacent Productions.

Cane started his career at MTV News in 1998 and eventually became showrunner on a number of shows at MTV. Prior to joining the BBC, Cane served as VP of development at FremantleMedia North America, where he focused specifically on the U.S. cable landscape, and worked with networks including A&E, Discovery, Lifetime, TLC and Bravo.

His credits include Perfect Score and Parental Control.
