Paul Franklin, executive vice president of programming for Shine America, is headed back to Shine Australia as director of content.
Commencing February 2015, Franklin will work in tandem with Shine Australia’s director of programming Peter Newman to oversee a portion of the division’s unscripted and scripted programming. He will report to Shine Australia joint CEOs Mark and Carl Fennessy.
It’s Franklin’s second tenure with Shine Australia: he was the company’s head of programming in 2010, before being appointed Shine America’s EVP of programming in 2012.
In the U.S., he helped launch Shine America’s unscripted programming department and oversaw Fox’s MasterChef and Masterchef Jr.; NBC’s The Biggest Loser; Oxygen’s The Face, Bravo’s Tabatha Takes Over, GSN’s Minute To Win It, CNBC’s Restaurant Startup and truTV’s Fake Off.
