Montreal’s Pixcom taps Charlie Smith for development role

Montreal-based Pixcom Productions has hired Charlie Smith to fill the newly created position of director of development for English TV.

The former Cineflix Productions director of development will be based in Toronto, but will spend part of his time at Pixcom’s headquarters in Montreal. Smith’s previous credits include Dragons’ Den, Canadian Idol, The Big Decision, The Peoples Couch and Four Rooms.

Pixcom’s current English-language television series include Discovery Canada’s Licence to Drill, Dangerous Flights and Jacked!, History Television’s Restoration Garage and Bomb Hunters, E!’s Pop Quiz and Spike USA’s Thrift Hunters.

Pixcom also produces a number of French-language series and digital media projects across a variety of genres, including the kids series Les Argonauts and the documentary Dans L’Ombre des Shafia.
