U.S. cable network Syfy has hired former AMC exec Andie Beckerman to be its vice president of alternative development and production.

She will develop programming that builds on the NBCUniversal-owned channel’s unscripted programs such as Face Off, and will report to senior VP of alternative and development and production Heather Olander. She will be based in Los Angeles.

Beckerman previously developed and oversaw programming on unscripted series such as Talking Dead, Comic Book Men and Game of Arms.

She began her career in television at AMC, where she worked her way up to director of development, unscripted original programming after joining in 2004.
