ITV Studios America has signed a first-look deal with producer Brian Neal (pictured).

Neal, who has produced projects including Alaska Gold Diggers, for networks such as National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, TLC, MTV and Animal Planet, will develop and produce projects through his Thought Pirates shingle.

Prior to starting the company, he worked with several independent shops on both unscripted and scripted projects and has produced and directed several commercials. He is based in Los Angeles and repped by ICM.

“His track record and scope of work is a testament to his vision for compelling programming across all platforms,” said Bruce Robertson, exec VP of creative strategy for ITV Studios America. “We’re excited to have him add to ITV Studios America’s ever-expanding slate.”

In January, ITV Studios America signed an overall deal with producer Mark Efman and his banner Big Energy Productions.
