PGA wins for “Cosmos,” “The Voice,” “Life Itself”

The Producers Guild of America honored TV shows The Voice and Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey (pictured), along with feature doc Life Itself, at the 26th annual Producers Guild Awards in LA.

The award for outstanding producer of a theatrical documentary went to Garrett Basch, Steve James and Zak Piper for their Roger Ebert documentary Life Itself; while the prize for outstanding producer of non-fiction television went to Cosmos producers Brannon Braga, Mitchell Cannold, Jason Clark, Ann Druyan, Livia Hanich, Steve Holtzman and Seth MacFarlane.

Elsewhere, the honor for outstanding producer of competition television went to Stijn Bakkers, Mark BurnettJohn De Mol, Chad Hines, Lee Metzger, Audrey Morrissey, Jim Roush, Kyra Thompson, Mike Yurchuk and Amanda Zucker for NBC’s The Voice.

Finally, the winners of outstanding producer of live entertainment and talk television were the team behind The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon (NBC), which comprises producers Rob Crabbe, Jamie Granet Bederman, Katie Hockmeyer, Jim Juvonen, Josh Lieb, Brian McDonald, Lorne Michaels and Gavin Purcell.

The winners were honored at a ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles last night (January 24).
