Cardiff-based UK indie Barefoot Rascals and Flame Distribution have signed a five-project development deal.

Founded by producers Gordon Main and Peter Edwards, Barefoot’s titles include Anna’s Welsh Zoo (ITV), Dream Island (ITV) and Falklands Combat Medics (Military History UK, History Latin America).

The company has previously worked with flame, which has a catalog of nearly 1,000 hours of programming, on titles including Dream Island and Galahad.

Flame CEO John Caldon said: “We are impressed with the unique features and depth of Barefoot’s slate and look forward to being pro-actively involved.”

Barefoot Rascals’ creative director Main added: “Flame has been incredibly supportive since we first met. They have successfully sold our titles internationally and are now taking the step of investing in our future. We’re looking forward to unveiling some great new projects over the coming weeks and months.”
