ZDF Enterprises boards MIPDoc pitch competition

German distributor ZDF Enterprises has signed on to sponsor the 2015 MIPDoc Co-Production Pitch competition at the Cannes documentary market in April.

German distributor ZDF Enterprises has signed on to sponsor the 2015 MIPDoc Co-Production Pitch competition at the Cannes documentary market in April.

The Reed Midem-organized event is open to international creators and producers looking for copro partners for factual and doc projects, and is now accepting entries.

Participants are to be narrowed down to five finalists, who will then pitch to a jury comprised of senior executives from ZDF Enterprises as well as senior programmers at an event on April 11.

“ZDF Enterprises is one of the leading global players in the coproduction and distribution of high-end science, history and wildlife programming,” said Ralf Rueckauer, VP of factual at ZDF Enterprises, in a statement.

“It is our aim to be where the best producers gather and where new ideas originate,” he continued. “Therefore, MIPDoc is an ideal environment for us. We are looking forward to many stunning projects and enthusiastic producers involved with the pitching battle.”

Registration for the competition is open to applicants through MIPDoc’s Digital Screenings platform.

MIPDoc runs this year from April 11 to 12, followed by MIPTV from April 13 to 16.
