“Paedophile Hunter,” “World War” up for RTS awards

BBC3 documentary Our World War and Channel 4 film The Paedophile Hunter (pictured) are among the non-fiction nominees vying for the Royal Television Society’s RTS Programme Awards.

The annual awards ceremony – presented by the British television forum – honors all genres of TV programming, as well as actors, presenters, writers and production teams. The current batch of nominations is for work produced between 2013 and 2014.

This year’s single documentary nominees include Sandpaper Films’ Baby P: The Untold Story (BBC1), and two from Amos Pictures: The Paedophile Hunter (Channel 4) and This World: Terror at The Mall (BBC2).

The science and natural history contenders are Arrow Media’s Live from Space: Lap of the Planet (Channel 4), BBC Scotland Science Productions’ The Girl Who Talked to Dolphins (BBC4) and Life Story (BBC1) from BBC Natural History Production, Open University, BBC Worldwide, Discovery and France TV.

Elsewhere, docuseries nominees include The Garden Productions’ Bedlam (Channel 4), BBC Documentaries Production’s Life & Death Row (BBC3) and Protecting our Parents (BBC2).

Winners are to be announced at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on March 17.
