As part of a restructuring of senior management, distributor FremantleMedia International (FMI) has officially tapped former chief finance officer and director of operations Bob McCourt as chief operating officer.

McCourt had previously served as acting CEO prior to the arrival of Jens Richter (pictured) earlier this year, following his stint as Red Arrow International MD.

In his new role, McCourt – who will be reporting to Richter, CEO of FMI – will support the CEO in managing and leading the company.

The exec’s duties now include helping Richter implement FMI’s strategic and commercial direction, and overseeing operational and financial aspects of the distribution business.

Meanwhile, McCourt’s financial role will be taken over by Darren Green, who has been promoted from senior financial controller to financial director of FMI. Elsewhere, the company has also upped Singapore-based Haryaty Rahman to senior VP of sales and distribution for Asia.

Richter said in a statement that “changes to reporting structures reflect [FMI's] increased commitment to the emerging markets, and the potential opportunities they offer.”
