London formats company Boxatricks has inked a copro and co-development deal with Dublin-based producer Kite Entertainment.

Headed by Darren Smith, Kite produces programming for both Ireland and overseas, with credits including Secret Millionaire Ireland, an Irish version of Israeli format Connected and The Mother of All Weddings(pictured).

Under the deal, Kite is to produce Boxatricks formats for Irish broadcasters, and will also team up with the formats company for the development of new projects. The jointly created formats will be distributed outside the UK by Nordic World.

Boxatricks – launched in September 2013 by Who Wants to be a Millionaire? co-creators Michael Whitehill and David Briggs - most recently signed a similar deal with UK indie Spun Gold TV.

“I have worked with both Boxatricks and Kite for some time and to see them in a united partnership like this makes me extremely positive towards the creative outcome,” said Jan Salling, COO of Nordic World, in a statement. “Nordic World looks forward to bringing this to the attention of the world.”
