Banijay International takes global rights to “Sing It On”

The London-headquartered independent distributor has picked up the international rights to the Pitch Perfect-inspired reality series Sing It On (pictured).

Banijay International has acquired international distribution rights to the reality series Sing It On (pictured).

Coproduced by singer John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co. and Core Media Group, the eight x one-hour series follows collegiate a cappella groups as they compete in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals in New York.

The London-based distributor will begin selling the show to global buyers after it wraps up its run on U.S. cable network Pop. The series was inspired by the movie Pitch Perfect and premiered on Pop last week to coincide with the theatrical release of Pitch Perfect 2.

Jennifer O’Connell, Teri Wagner Flynn, and Kallissa Miller are exec producing the show for Core Media Group, with Jenny Ramirez, Amanda Newman and J McMahon serving as co-executive producers. Legend, Ty Stiklorius and Mike Jackson are the exec producers for Get Lifted.
