U.S. indie T Group Productions has inked a copro deal with former Disney-ABC executive Ann Lewis Roberts (pictured) and her recently launched prodco Roberts Media.
Under the deal, Roberts will create, develop and produce unscripted programming with an eye on formats and talent-driven projects that will be co-produced with T Group in the U.S., Canada and the UK. Roberts and Jenny Daly, president of T Group, will serve as executive producers on all series.
Meanwhile, Roberts Media will relocate to T Group’s Santa Monica offices to work alongside Daly and Rob Lobl, executive VP of development and current programming.
T Group most recently penned a copro deal with Canadian producers Jay Kovitz and Matthew Kershaw of Real Housewives of San Diego prodco Interior Day Entertainment, and previously linked up with Jack Osbourne’s Osbourne Media and London- and LA-based producer Znak&Jones.
Prior to forming Roberts Media, Ann Lewis Roberts served as head of Disney-ABC’s unscripted studio, as well as senior VP of daytime and syndication programming. There, she developed and launched The Chew and also revived such series as The View and Who Wants to be a Millionaire? In addition, Roberts developed a syndicated format with Tyra Banks – set to premiere this fall – and created and sold formats including Family Dance Off (ABC), Social Heights (Bravo), Cha$e (GSN), Psychic in Suburbia (Style) and Stringers (truTV).
Before joining ABC, Roberts served as VP of development and programming and executive producer for E! and Style where her credits included Clean House, Dr. 90210, How Do I Look? and Whose Wedding Is It Anyway.
“Jenny and I grew up together in unscripted TV at E! at a groundbreaking time for the network,” said Roberts in a statement. “As an entrepreneur, Jenny quickly built an impressive and innovative company and we’ve made it a point to do business together through the years. As I grow this venture, I’m thrilled to join forces with her and the enthusiastic team at T Group.”
Daly added: “Ann has a proven track record for building franchise properties. She has a keen eye for creative, strong relationships with top talent as well as experience as a packager, producer and both network and studio executive.”
