The second edition of Realscreen London is set to take place September 30 and October 1, at the fabulous London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square. The event builds on last year’s launch event, which brought together over 400 UK and international producers and global buyers of unscripted and factual entertainment, and the program has expanded to a full two days.

Plans are underway for developing the content of this year’s edition of Realscreen London, as our advisory board works with our team to devise an agenda that will inspire and educate. No matter where you are in your career – whether you are establishing your foothold in the unscripted and non-fiction content industry or are a seasoned veteran – there will be content that will help you both develop your business and keep abreast of the trends impacting the industry today, and tomorrow.

CONTROLLING STAKES, CREATIVITY & COMMISSIONS

With the wave of consolidation that has swept the international independent production sector over the last few years, the television landscape has experienced incredible change. As large media and broadcast groups are still avidly snapping up controlling and minority stakes for a range of production companies – from super-indies to smaller outfits – how is the seemingly never-ending spending spree impacting commissioning, creativity and IP exploitation in the UK, the US, and abroad? And where will it go from here? This panel brings together various stakeholders to discuss and debate the benefits and drawbacks of this new era of consolidation.

THE DOS AND DON’TS OF RUNNING A PRODUCTION COMPANY

Geared towards newer production companies entering the unscripted fray, a panel of producers, network executives and industry professionals will offer advice on the top 10 things you should and shouldn’t do when establishing your business. From hiring your team and prepping your pitch to scoring a greenlight and picking your battles, learn from those who have “been there and done that” and lived to tell their tales, and share their hard-earned wisdom.

Register today to take advantage of the early bird rate of US$699; the offer expires Friday, July 31st. You can register online or by contacting Joel Pinto at 1-416-408-2300 ext. 650.
