London-based distributor TCB Media Rights has hired former Cineflix Rights exec Kate Llewellyn-Jones (pictured) to the newly created role of managing director.

The move reunites her with TCB Media CEO Paul Heaney, who previously worked with Llewellyn-Jones in Cineflix Rights’ UK office.

She joined the Canadian indie in 2003 as a sales manager and was promoted to head of sales in 2008, director of sales in 2011 and senior VP of sales management in 2012. Most recently, she oversaw sales in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including such territories as France, Italy, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

She also headed up acquisitions for Australia and New Zealand and managed third-party relationships.

“The past 12 years at Cineflix Rights have been massively rewarding on many levels and have taught me a huge amount about this business,” she said in a statement. “TCB Media Rights is at a point in its lifecycle where the opportunities and strategies for growth present another fascinating learning curve.”

Heaney left Cineflix Rights in 2012 after 10 years to launch TCB Media Rights.
