Asian Food Channel has greenlit two family-focused culinary formats Family Kitchen with Sherson (pictured) and Cooking For Love.

The programs will begin airing on the Scripps Networks Interactive-owned network in August and September, respectively.

Produced by Malaysia’s Double Vision, Family Kitchen with Sherson compares traditional and modern twists on Malaysian family cooking and stars celebrity chef Sherson Lian and his mother Ann Lian.

In Cooking For Love, which is being produced by Singapore-based Refinery Media,  the network’s Food Hero 2014 winner Sarah Benjamin and TV chef Nik Michael Imran will compete to create innovative menus for family events.

The commissions are part of Asian Food Network’s strategy to increase its original programming hours.
