U.S. cable net TLC has set a summer premiere for Answered Prayers, an unscripted series documenting various life-threatening situations with miraculous outcomes.

The previously announced series, hosted by actress and producer Roma Downey (pictured), will weave a variety of interviews with a blend of recreations and original footage into six hour-long episodes. The series will highlight stories that include a boy buried under 11 feet of sand for hours, a pastor surviving a vicious stabbing that inflicted 37 wounds and a family that survives its car plunging upside down into an icy river bank.

Produced by Downey’s LightWorkers Media, a division of United Artists Media Group – a joint venture among MGM, Mark Burnett, Hearst Entertainment and Downey – the series is exec produced by Downey, Burnett and Tom Shelly. Wendy Hinton is co-executive producer.

Answered Prayers will debut July 26 at 10 p.m. EST/PST on TLC.
