The California-headquartered distributor added eight OWN titles to its unscripted catalog in April. The deal sees M-Net acquiring two seasons each of Deion’s Family Playbook, which follows former NFL player Deion Sanders, as well as Raising Whitley, which centers on actress Kym Whitley.
M-Net also acquired two seasons of restaurant-focused series Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s, and the special Knight Life with Gladys, which documents the recording of Gladys Knight’s latest album, subsequent tour and the opening of a new restaurant.
The African platform has also ordered the high school-based series Blackboard Wars, family program Flex and Shanice, and the food truck-oriented 2 Fat 2 Fly.
“GRB is very proud to represent several top OWN programs for international distribution and are pleased to partner with M-Net to bring these rating winners to their audience,” said Mike Lolato, senior VP of international distribution for GRB Entertainment, in a statement. “GRB is known for producing and distributing compelling character-driven programming and M-Net is sure to enjoy success with these shows.”
