U.S. cable net Up TV has ordered the dance-driven docuseries Dancin’ the Dream from LA- and Atlanta-based Crazy Legs Productions.

Presently in production on two 30-minute pilot episodes in Atlanta, the series delves into the demanding lives of eight dancers aged nine to 15 as they chase their on-stage dreams. Cameras will follow the performers through rehearsals while receiving direction from hip-hop dancer and choreographer Kiki Ely (pictured) and professional dancer BeeJay Harris at the Atlanta-based studio, ATL Takeova.

Dancers will work together on special performances and, at other times, compete against each other for places in concerts. The conclusion of each episode is to showcase such performances as a flash mob for a charity event, a reinterpretation of a famous routine, and dancing backup for a celebrated singer.

The show is exec produced by Tom Cappello , Keely Walker Muse, Tara Burtchaell and Alana GoldsteinDancin’ the Dream is slated to launch this fall on Up TV.
