U.S. net Investigation Discovery has set a July 9 premiere for the criminal investigation series Untouchable: Power Corrupts (pictured), which explores the abuses of power by authority figures.

The six-hour series will interweave re-enactments with expert commentary to reveal the journeys that led ambitious citizens into a world of corruption. The series premiere will detail the events surrounding Dr. Michael Swango, a trusted surgeon suspected of having been involved in the mysterious decline of a number of his patients between 1981 and 1997.

Produced by Toronto-based Our House Media, Untouchable: Power Corrupts will also highlight various other figures, ranging from a detective questioned about his interrogation methods to a sheriff who goes to great lengths to maintain control amidst claims of corruption.

Untouchable: Power Corrupts, which is to launch on Investigation Discovery on July 9 at 9 p.m. EST/PST, is exec produced by Simon Lloyd and Joe Houlihan for Our House Media, while Max Culhane is exec producing for Investigation Discovery.
