Lifetime to roll out “Project Runway Junior”

U.S. net Lifetime is readying a spin-off of its fashion competition series Project Runway that will showcase the talents of young designers aged 14 to 17.

U.S. net Lifetime is readying a spin-off of its fashion competition series Project Runway that will showcase the talents of teenage designers.

The series – titled Project Runway Junior - is hosted by fashion consultant and presenter Tim Gunn, who will also act as a mentor to young contestants aged 14 to 17 alongside model Hannah Davis. The show’s judges include designer Christian Siriano and Aya Kanai, executive fashion editor at Cosmopolitan and Seventeen Magazine.

Production on the series will take place this summer in New York, and the program will bow in the fall.

Project Runway Junior is produced by The Weinstein Company, Sara Rea Productions and Full Picture. Executive producers include Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein, and Patrick Reardon and Barbara Schneeweiss of The Weinstein Company, along with Sara Rea, Tim Gunn, Jane Cha and Desiree Gruber of Full Picture. Lifetime’s Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and David Hillman are also exec producing.
