Former Wilshire Studios exec Benny Reuven (pictured) has joined Oxygen as vice president of development.

Based in Los Angeles, he will develop lifestyle programming aimed at the NBCUniversal-owned cable net’s target demo of young, multicultural women and report to SVP of development and international Cori Abraham.

Reuven is formerly the vice president of development and programming for Wilshire Studios, which currently produces the E! series Sex with Brody.

Before that, he founded 3RB Entertainment where he headed up development. He also launched a U.S. office for UK-based Love Productions and spent two years in the programming and development department at OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

His unscripted credits include Chef Wanted, Miami Ink, Trading Spouses and Kid Nation.

In other Oxygen news, the network has renewed its reality hit The Prancing Elites Project for a second season and will expand its episodes from 30 minutes to 60. The series follows five gay African-American men who are part of a dance troupe that is challenging social norms in their hometown of Mobile, Alabama.

Produced by Crazy Legs Productions, its April premiere was Oxygen’s highest-rated series premiere since the network rebranded last fall. The first season finale airs tonight (July 8).
