Produced by Ryan Scafuro, the film chronicles New York City native Chris Schoeck as he pursues his lifelong dream of becoming a professional Oldtime Strongman and performing at Coney Island in New York, with a training regimen that involves bending bars of steel and overcoming his own doubts.

The film, which premiered in competition at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival and went on to screen at Hot Docs, will be made available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Instant Video, Vudu and online on August 4.

“We are excited to be partnering with Bond/360, whose passion for intimate and meaningful storytelling will connect Bending Steel to a global audience,” said Carrol and Scafuro in a statement. “Chris ‘Wonder’ Schoeck’s story is in great hands and we could not be more pleased to extend his journey, through life, both on and off the screen.”
