FremantleMedia International (FMI) has tapped Amaç Erol Us as its Dubai-based sales director for the Middle East, Africa and Southeastern Europe.

In the new role, Us will oversee tape distribution and seek format growth opportunities for targets across the Middle East, Africa, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Turkey, in addition to working with existing clients.

The exec – who will report to Anahita Kheder, senior VP of Middle East, Africa and Southeastern Europe – will also focus on scripted content distribution between regional markets.

Us most recently served as sales and acquisitions executive at Turkish media company Kanal D, where he acquired content and managed the distribution of the company’s extended catalog throughout the Middle East, Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Macedonia, Ukraine and Georgia.

“In recent years, we have witnessed significant changes and growth in the television business across the Middle East, Africa and Southeastern Europe, and FMI has worked exceptionally hard to establish itself as a market leader within the region,” said Anahita Kheder in a statement.

“The addition of Amaç brings further local knowledge and expertise to our team that will help us to expand our presence and continue to build upon our successes to date,” the exec continued.
