U.S. net TLC has set a September 9 air date for Suddenly Royal (pictured), a reality series following an American blue-collar family thrust into royalty through family lineage.

Produced by MAK Pictures, the 7 x 60-minute series focuses on the Howe family – auto repair adviser David, his wife Pam and 12-year-old daughter Grace – as they embark on a journey to the British Isle of Man following the discovery of their royal ancestry through a website.

From an invitation to the Duke and Duchess’s royal wedding and hosting royal garden parties, to learning the local Manx language, participating in the World Tin Bath Championship and convincing Isle residents of their bloodlines, the Howe family will do everything to immerse themselves in the state’s culture in an attempt to win over the locals.

Suddenly Royal is to bow on September 9 at 10 p.m. EST/PST on TLC.
